Final Project Idea

For the final project, I have chosen to illustrate the changing of seasons. Now since it is a series of three consecutive pieces, I will be demonstrating the transition from fall to winter to spring, leaving out summer since it is not too different from spring. I will be doing this digitally, creating three Photoshop pieces. My plan is to take a photograph of a scene in nature, and use the same photograph for all 3 parts. I will manipulate this picture to fit with each season, until they seem like 3 completely different pictures.

I want the photograph to be of a part of my environment that looks drastically different throughout the seasons. For example, if I take a picture of a street, it will not look that different season to season. I really want to find a good landscape that includes a tree in it, since that will drastically change.

Texture Project: Take photos of the four different categories of textures

Second Life 2d Composition. Wanted to do a digital version of the object, making it appear 3d using Photoshop techniques, and simplifying/changing the color and the background.

Shapes and Form project. I checked out Keith Haring’s work as inspiration, as well as Warhol. I wanted to do something emphasizing the organization of shapes, so I repeated the same shape, in many different ways and with many different colors to show how drastically that can change the viewer’s interpretation or meaning of the object.

The Invisible Homeless Man

It was put up around 12 am on Wednesday night at the Reservoir T Stop and was taken down in the morning, probably by MBTA douchebags. Everyone who walked by it would stop and read it, but unfortunately we couldn’t tape any reactions because we were planning on doing it in the morning, but it was gone.

Items used: Old hat, old gloves, sandals, sunglasses. Clothes were stuffed with crumpled paper. Hat and sign were attached to string, which was attached to a pipe above to hold it in place. Gloves were superglued to sign to seem like it was being held, and one glove was glue to the Invisibotomy $$$ Funds Cup.

If we had to do it again, we would definitely put it in a place where there is no one who could take it in, because I was really hoping to see people’s reactions to it once the T station as busy in the morning. I most likely will be doing this again, it was a lot of fun.
